PUR-CSM for processing BaydurŪ
Today, the well-proven PUR-CSM spraying technique is also
used for manufacturing long glass fibre reinforced mouldings in a closed
mould. In combination, for example, with the raw material BaydurŪ
of Bayer MaterialScience (PUR-CSM BaydurŪ).

Instead of using pre-fabricated fibre mats, glass rovings are dispensed from a reel
and cut before processing. Polyurethane mixture is sprayed into
the open mould, with the chopped glass fibres being externally added
to the PU spray jet. The moulding is then formed after curing in the closed mould. The
irregular distribution of the glass fibres imparts a high mechanical strength to the
finished part in all load directions.
