We Make Sure Hot Water Stays Hot

Hot-water storage tanks and boilers are essential components of modern building systems. Their energy efficiency is largely down to the quality of their insulation. Nowadays, polyurethane insulation has replaced older methods such as mineral wool or assembled EPS half-shells because it provides seamless, thermal-bridge-free insulation while also increasing the mechanical stability of the finished unit. We develop customized semi-automated production systems for hot-water storage tanks, boilers, and other building services equipment with PUR insulation.

Our Solutions

  • Insulation without thermal bridges

    The hot-water storage tank is foam-insulated inside a closed mold. Once cured, the polyurethane foam permanently bonds the bottom, top, and tank components into a single structure, providing seamless insulation without thermal bridges, while simultaneously delivering a high level of mechanical stability to the finished product. A plastic film sleeve surrounding the tank replaces the mold release agent and reliably separates the mold from the polyurethane during the foaming process. This reduces the need for chemical processing aids and keeps the production process clean. The system can manufacture different product sizes through simple adjustment of the clamping length, provided that the boiler models differ only in length and not in diameter.

  • Seamless insulation layer

    Another technology is designed for hot-water storage tanks consisting of an inner tank and a cylindrical outer shell. The cavity between the two components is filled with polyurethane foam, which cures to form a continuous insulation layer while permanently bonding the inner tank to the outer shell. The result is uniform thermal insulation combined with a high level of dimensional stability throughout the entire water storage system. This process utilizes mold carriers that only secure the storage tank at the top and bottom. The simplified system design eliminates the need for a plastic film sleeve and enables transport through a continuous circulating production line.
