Pentane has become established as the preferred environmentally friendly blowing agent for rigid polyurethane foam, delivering outstanding insulation performance with minimal Global Warming Potential (GWP) and zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP). As a cost-effective replacement for CFCs, however, this highly flammable medium requires the highest levels of precision in processing.

Hennecke addressed this challenge as far back as 1993. With our Pentane Process Technology (PPT), we established the global industry standard for the safe processing of pentane.

Developed in cooperation with TÜV Süddeutschland, the PPT concept consistently prevents the formation of explosive gas mixtures through a combination of primary and secondary safety measures. Rather than relying on restrictive machine enclosures, PPT employs a decentralized safety architecture featuring localized exhaust systems at critical process points together with preventive nitrogen purging.

A gap-free network of sensors continuously monitors all relevant operating parameters. Precise pentane loading of the polyol component is achieved through PENTAMAT premixing stations using an exactly calculated batch process.
